+15 light rain with a few sunny breaks, light winds
The day started with heavy rain. Our plan was to tramp one of the Abel Tasman’s many tramps (hikes). Fortunately, we dragged our heels through breakfast, second cup of coffee and getting caught up on the blog.
By delaying, we actually caught a break in the weather where the rain stopped and the sun worked at breaking through raising the temperature a bit.
To get to the tramp, we passed through a few small villages and drove down narrow and winding roads, nothing has changed out here. We arrived at the start of the Abel Tasman National Park where entry is free. We checked the maps posted at the un-manned park entry centre and began our tramp. Our destination is Apple Tree Beach about 5 1/2 km one way.
Rather than writing about the tramp, the photos describe what we saw on this short journey along one of New Zealand’s famous tramps.
