We are back in Melbourne for a quick 1/2 day plus to tour some of the parts of the city we might have skipped over 5 weeks prior. But, the weather was spectacular being above 30C and having brilliant blue skies. We decided that Victoria Market deserved another look, as the last time we were here it was raining making for a so so experience. Fortunately, we were able to take a free took shuttle bus #109 to Queens Street and then we transferred to #234 tram to Victoria Market – our second trip there. We were getting to be quite experienced using the Australian transit systems.
The target purchases were for Keith and Diane to shop for a belt, reading, and sunglasses while Joan and I shopped for Australia appropriate socks for Ella and Addy.
Next, we stopped for lunch and dined with a ton of school kids all in various school uniforms and then went to the Docklands area were under impressed. It seems that this area was intended to be a hot spot but had yet to get hot. Aside from the high priced condos and dockside pier and a block or two away is Marvel Stadium which is the stadium for Melbourne Aussie rules football team.
And of course, because it was hot out it was time to buy some white wine and end our vacation on a high note at the back (stern) of the ship in the sun looking at Melbourne CBD and sipping wine seemed like a great idea.
